THE ULTIMATE IN LARGE SLIDING DOORS FOR WINTER WARMTH AND INSULATION
We’re all sold on the benefits of oversized glazing for our homes when summer is here – walls of glass glide back to let the outside in, with barbecues on the patio and a cool breeze wafting through your open plan living space. Just delightful!
But will those large expanses of glass make a room feel chilly and lead to heat loss when there’s a cold snap?

OVER-SIZED GLAZING GREAT FOR WINTER TOO!
It is absolutely possible to have well-insulated large sliding glass doors which deliver spectacular views on snow days and keep you cosy and warm inside.
Aluminium energy-efficient sliding doors have superb thermal specification to ensure a comfortable living space all winter, whatever the weather. They are manufactured as bonded systems – the frames and glass panes are sealed as one unit to ensure minimum heat loss when installed.

SLIDING DOOR U-VALUE THERMAL EFFICIENCY EXPLAINER
U values (measured in units of W/m²K) indicate the amount of possible heat loss through the glass, frame, seals and spacers which make up an aluminium sliding door system.
The lower the U values, the less energy is able to travel through the sliding doors and the better its thermal performance.
