Corner Sliding Doors for perfect garden extension
Planning and visualising a home renovation project is exciting, but the time gap between those conversations with your architect and project completion can drag. When we caught up with our client, her response captured what many feel on installation day.
“As soon as the windows were in, I wanted to move in the next day!”
Our client has remodelled her garden; it’s now an accessible, low maintenance area with raised beds and a generous sun trap patio. Modern relaxed garden furniture, informal planting and garden sculpture have created contemporary styling.
Five panel sliding door with opening corner
Our client chose a slimline SL320 sliding system for her single storey garden extension. The large frames have a contemporary look that she felt complemented her newly landscaped garden design.
The high performance glass doors glide in either direction. To the left is one fixed and two sliding panels, and on the right, one sliding and one fixed panel. The glass corner opens over two metres in either direction for that long wished-for inside/outside feel.
In total, there’s over 10 metres of huge glass panes through which to enjoy views of the garden.
Flush threshold and frame colour
Overhanging eaves shade the doors from direct sun and the open corner is supported by an external steel. The moveable panels glide easily on stainless steel rollers along three flush tracks, installed exactly level with the interior flooring and the external natural stone patio. It’s the seamless finish our client had admired in other homes and a feature she’s delighted to have herself.
The sliding system has powder-coated frames in an Anthracite Grey matt finish. Like all our standard colour coatings, this finish is extremely low maintenance and easy to clean.

Corner sliding doors made a dream vision come true
We caught up with our client and asked her whether the glazing for her garden extension was a success?
“I can now look out at my garden and there are no columns – it’s just lovely. In fact, as soon as the windows were in, I wanted to move in the next day! I chose an open corner design which was really worth it – it brings the garden into my home, which after all is a part of my home.
My architect recommended ODC Glass doors. He had visited their factory in Poole and was impressed by the build quality. And he was right! They are easy to operate, simple to use, firm but not flimsy. They have flush thresholds which was on my design wishlist and I’m delighted to find that they are so easy to keep clean. Just a quick brush will clear the tracks of any bits blown in from the garden.
I chose one of their standard colours; it blends in well with the contemporary design of my garden and so I didn’t feel the need to go for the expense of a bespoke colour.
The installation team worked really hard and were keen to do a really good job. They polished and cleaned them after fitting and gave me a demo to show me how simple they were to use.
Were there any negatives to buying from ODC Glass? Absolutely none!“
